Presentation of the Missions Programme at the 2nd Circular Economy Conference of the Gipuzkoa School of Engineering
The event took place on 10 February at the Gipuzkoa School of Engineering.
What is the Circular Economy and what can we do from the different areas of Engineering? In this conference organised by the University-Business Classroom of Circular Economy, teachers and researchers from the School of Engineering of Gipuzkoa and collaborators, including Euskampus Fundazioa, presented the advances developed in the field of materials, management, energy, robotics and artificial intelligence and their industrial application.
From Euskampus Fundazioa, Miriam Ruiz, head of Cooperative Research and Innovation, presented the Missions Programme as an example of the activation of research and pedagogical innovation capacities in the Circular Economy. After this presentation, the projects Zirkbotics from Missions 1.0 and SOFIA from Missions 2.0 were presented.
The Zirkbotics project, presented by Iker Laskurain, in which the UPV/EHU, Tecnalia and Estia-Recherche participate, researches into robotic technologies that facilitate the Circular Economy. The SOFIA project, for its part, deals with the application of Artificial Intelligence for the promotion of the Circular Economy through fiscal policies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. The latter project was presented by Germán Arana and Waleska Siguenza and involves different faculties of the UPV/EHU.
